The gradual trickle of new At a Look attributes are constantly holding Pixel homeowners on the edge of their seat. But an upcoming “Cross System Timer” could take the sensible widget a total new level—soon, At a Glance will present you a countdown for timers made on Nest Hubs and other Google Assistant devices.
For individuals who are uninitiated, the At a Look widget exhibits helpful facts on a Pixel phone’s lock display screen or residence screen. Every day phase counts, good doorbell alerts, and Bluetooth battery indicators are just 3 issues that might pop up in At a Glance.
The APK Insight crew at 9to5Google identified a new, unannounced At a Look element in the Google application 13.26 beta. Even though the specific operation of this attribute is unidentified, we know that it pulls Google Assistant timers from other gadgets, exclusively sensible speakers and shows.
This element is prolonged overdue and highly asked for from Google Assistant users. It could also pave the way for further integrations in the Google hardware ecosystem. (Now, if only Google would perform on Android TV’s good property integration. That’d be great.)
But we’re nevertheless missing a large amount of aspects. We do not know if your Pixel cell phone vibrates when the timer operates out, for case in point. And if the goal is “cross-device” performance, is there a prospect that Nest Hubs could demonstrate timers made on your cellphone?
We’re not sure when Google will start Cross Device Timers. But based on preceding At a Glance updates, I expect to wait around a number of months.
