A new Spotify bug will make it not possible to entry the app’s media controls. This bug, which only influences Android users, will make the Spotify Now Actively playing bar, notification manage pane, and homescreen widget vanish. It also stops Spotify from mechanically pausing when you play audio as a result of other applications.

Android commenced suffering from this bug after updating to Spotify version 8.7.20.1261, which released on April seventh. Spotify has acknowledged the problem and statements that it largely impacts Samsung phones, although I’ve found loads of complaints from other Android customers, like individuals with Google Pixel products.

@AskSpotifyStars @Spotify what took place to the now actively playing bar? It keeps disappearing in the final Android update. And the residence display widget will not likely display just about anything both. And it will go on taking part in over other audio if you perform audio from an additional application. Though we don’t know why this bug exists, it may have one thing to do with the redesigned Now Playing bar in Spotify version 8.seven.20.1261. The bar now functions a glassy style and design with rounded edges—at the very least, that’s what it appears to be like like when it basically shows up.

If you run into this bug, I recommend restarting Spotify right until the Now Participating in bar returns. It’s a momentary resolve, but it’s the only issue which is labored for me (and numerous users on Twitter, Reddit, and the Spotify aid forum). Unfortunately, Spotify does not allow for web sites like APK Mirror to share older variations of its application, so downgrading to an older version of Spotify is tough and dangerous.

Your best bet is to wait around for an additional Spotify update. The business is knowledgeable of this bug and functioning on a solution. We just hope that Spotify rolls out a repair inside of the following few days.
